Since 1873 the Ganong family and friends have put their heart and soul into
the chocolate confectioner's art. An art never lost. For the special skills
in making quality confectionery have been passed down from father to son throughout
the generations in the small town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
Today, the love of chocolate and devotion to excellence leads David Ganong,
a fourth generation chocolate maker, to preserve and perpetuate this rich
heritage. The result is a joy. For at Ganong Chocolatier, you'll discover
many old-fashioned varieties, that haven't been made in half a century,
together with exquisite masterpieces of the confectioner's art. Rich milk
caramel, sinful chocolate truffles, peanut butter cups, delicious double-dipped
cherries, the one and only chicken bones - this is a mere sample of the
precious pieces waiting to excite and delight the discriminating palate.
This recreation of an old-fashioned candy story with all its insights,
smells and tastes will delight the whole family and bring back fond memories.
Fine chocolate should be handled with care. It stores well in a cool, dry
atmosphere at approximately 18° C (65° F). Due to the high cocoa
butter content of our chocolate, changes in temperature may cause a light
misting of "bloom" on the surface. If this occurs, do not be concerned.
Although it affects the appearance, this slight whitening in no way alters
the superb quality of taste of your chocolates.
Quality Guarantee
We hereby guarantee that Ganong Chocolatier pieces have been made with
great professional care using only the finest ingredients. Their quality
should satisfy your search for the best. If not, please return them for
replacement.

Ganong’s "Evangeline"
Used as a marketing symbol (or logo) from 1904 to 1978.
Ganong Bros. Limited believed that the qualities exhibited by Evangeline – purity,
excellence, constancy, romance, and sweetness – (as described in the
poem Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie written by the American Poet, Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow, in 1847) applied to their candies, and thus used the symbol
on all their products for 74 years.
The original painting for this image was commissioned with Canadian
artist John David Kelly (an associate of the Group of Seven) in 1904.
The watercolour
has been restored and has a place of honour in the new facility at
One Chocolate Drive, St. Stephen, N.B. (Ganong Bros. Limited Head Office)
